Sharing who we are one teacher at a time.
We hope you are enjoying these blogs and that they help you feel more connected to us!!
Meet Lauren!
How would you describe your teaching style?
Comfortable, but also encouraging. I like my students to feel comfortable and safe on the mat, but also encourage them to challenge themselves in their own unique way during my flows - and maybe they exceed they’re own expectations of themselves by the end of our time together :)
What has teaching yoga taught you about yourself?
That yoga is not just about doing asana and taking class. I connect so much with yoga when I guide a class or privates. It warms my heart, is meditative to me, as well as healing and grounding - which is something I never knew about my practice with yoga until I began teaching!
What are your favorite and least favorite yoga poses?
My least favorite is Pincha mayurasana (forearm stand). My favorite is Eka pada galavasana (flying pigeon).
What do enjoy doing when you’re not teaching yoga?
I am a professional dancer and Pilates teacher apprentice. So when I’m not with my loved ones or taking a nature walk/checking out the ocean, I’m rehearsing, teaching dance or doing Pilates.
What song do you never get sick of?
Coldplay- “Magic”
What advice would you give for someone just starting their yoga practice?
If you have a mat and a body, you can do yoga!
If you could teach any celebrity, living or dead, who would it be and why?
Carole King. I love her music. Her lyrics are groovy, but also sentimental to me. I feel like she was a real queen and would be down to do some yoga!
